不过想请问你我们家长是否可以不要写要求批准请假的信，而是直接写信通知老师孩子将在某个日期缺席？

一般学校不知道, 在我的学校, 这种假(探亲,旅游,非直系亲属的婚丧嫁娶), 是不会approved. formal letter无论如何要交, 没有白纸黑字将来学生不来学校, 学校和家长说不清楚(以前有学生不来学校, 老师说家长打电话请假了, 家长说没有的情况), 如果不被批准, 仍然坚持要走, 学校有权留底/记缺席/采取惩罚措施.

我的例子是, 我的学生在3月份那个9天的学校假期前, 想额外申请3天假, 因为孩子的父亲常年在外国工作, 好不容易有个和孩子们公共的假期, 想去欧洲12日游. 尽管我很同情这种情况, 学校的纪律部门还是明确表态不会approve, 通知家长学校会保留处罚学生的权利.

我的建议是,如果学校不给假, 去拿MC吧.
