Actually the question goes something like this: Using digits 1 to 9, fill in the 9 squares such that each set of 3 digits adds up the same number, i.e. a+b+c =c+d+e=e+f+g=g+h+i.
There is a pattern.
My dd's answer is 1 9 4 8 2 7 5 6 3
Pattern: Fill in 1 2 3 at the corners (a, e, i), then 4 5 at the other corners (c, g), then remaining 6 7 8 9 (h, f, d, b).
We did another one: 9 3 2 4 8 5 1 6 7,
Same pattern: Fill in 9 8 7 at the corners, then 1 2 at the other corners, then 3 4 5 6.
and another answer: 9 1 6 2 8 3 5 4 7
Same pattern: Fill in 9 8 7 at the corners, then 5 6 at the other corners, then 1 2 3 4.
Based on your 1st answer: 7,6,1,5,8,4,2,3,9 ( I switched your last two numbers)
Pattern: Fill in 7 8 9 at the corners, then 1 2 at the other corners, then 3 4 5 6.
Now, try it for your second answer: 9,3,1,8,4,7,2,5,6
starting with 3 4 and 5 at the corners ( notice that 3 4 5 are in your sets?).
