MGS Funfair 2011
We want to thank you for responding to the appeal for contributions. This year’s Fun Fair is organized on a larger scale and unlike in other years, is open to the public. The Fair aims to raise funds to support various school activities and enhance facilities for the next academic year. The last time the school organized a Fun Fair of this scale was in 2003.
The ParentLink Organizing Committee and Level Representatives have been working hard for the MGS community to have lasting memories of ‘pleasures shared’.
The Fair is just 2 weeks away and here is an update of what’s been planned.
Food: We have mouthwatering offerings from a variety of food and beverage outlets such as PastaMania, Pepperoni's and Swensens, Soghurt, Ramly Burger, Fei Siong Fishballs, Polar , Madam Saigon, Penang Place, Wee Nam Kee Chicken rice and Starbucks.
Fun Fair favourites include the cuisine of Café Diva, roti prata, satay, popcorn and candy floss; you may wish to quench your thirst from a wide choice of beverages including Nestle Sjora, Milo and Nespresso coffee.
The Alumnae Association has a cake stall with cakes to entice all taste buds and their signature gourmet hotdogs; there is also an exclusive Christmas stall to help you get ready for the Christmas season.
Outdoors: The carnival continues outdoors with Uncle Ringo rides - Meteorite, Gyrospin, Bumper cars, Bumper rides, Pirate Ship, Balloon Wheel, Spinning Teacups, Western Train, a Dunking Booth, and Inline Skating sprawled across the grounds of MGS.
And there are games, games and more games…with lots of prizes.
Capture the Moments to Remember: Take a photograph with a Harley Davidson and Hippie van and get instant photo badges made. Or perhaps you may wish to have a makeover at Beauty World with Jean Yip and the Makeup Store!
Buy plants from the Green Corner, and more books at the Recycled Bookstore** and Stationery Gift Shop. Immerse in a hands-on session at the Art and Craft stall.
Limited edition: Fun Fair T-shirts, designed by MGS Alumna, Cassie Ong, are now on sale for just $10 each. On the day of the Fair , the girls may wear this T-shirt with their school shorts; thereafter, this T-shirt may also be worn for PE lessons.
If you wish to purchase the T-shirt, do complete the attached form and drop it, with the relevant payment, in the box labelled “Fun fair T-shirts”; the box is found at the General Office. Payment may be made with Fun Fair coupons or in a cheque made payable to “Methodist Girls’ School”.
Prizes to Win: The Fair offers a chance to win ipads, WMF cutlery sets, OSIM uMama massagers and more; all you need to do is take part in the Fun Fair Raffle.
So come to MGS on Saturday 29th October, from 9am to 3pm. You will not regret it!
** If you wish to clear your shelves of the books (textbooks included) you no longer need, please let us have the books for others to share the delight of reading. Do send these books to the boxes placed outside the Primary Music Rooms on Level One near the Parents’ Corner, any time between Wednesday 12 October and Tuesday 25 October; you may place these books in the boxes provided.
