VISITOR VISA APPLICATION CHECKLIST
(excluding partnership applications)

Please provide the following documents:
• Original documents supplied must be in English or attach with official English translation. Please also submit photocopies of these documents.
• Additional documents may be requested. This will be advised to you when you submit your application.
1. A properly completed and signed application form. You may submit either:
• A Visitor’s Visa Application form (INZ 1017) or
• A Tourist/Business Visitor Visa Application form (INZ1189). Use this form if you intend to visit New Zealand for less than 6 months for tourism (holiday or visiting family/friends) or business purpose. You must be able to provide your own funds or your employer is sponsoring your visit.
2. 2 recent passport size photographs.
3. Application fee to be paid in Singapore Dollars by Visa or Mastercard credit card, debit card**, bank draft or Singapore bank cheque made payable to Immigration New Zealand. The fee is NON-REFUNDABLE regardless of the outcome of your application. (**when submitting in person)
4. Original passport, copy of your passport bio data page and evidence of travel to other countries, eg. visas, entry stamps. If you are unable to provide your original passport, you can submit a certified copy.
5. Original and copy of evidence of residence status in the country where you are currently residing (work, student, dependant or long-term visit pass, permanent residence, etc).
6. If you are travelling with your spouse and children, please provide original and copy of the marriage certificate and children’s birth certificates. If family members are accompanying an applicant on a business trip, they have to submit a separate visa application form.
Children under the age of 16 years travelling alone or with only 1 parent must provide a written letter of consent from both parents and the children’s birth certificates.
7. A copy of your travel booking. Please do not purchase your air ticket(s) until a decision is made on your visa application.
8. For business purpose, please provide:
• A letter from your employer confirming your business trip to New Zealand and whether your employer will be responsible for your expenses. Otherwise, please provide your bank statement for the last 3 months.
• A letter of invitation from the New Zealand company.
9. For holiday purpose, please provide:
• Funds of NZ$1,000 per person per month or NZ$400 per person per month and evidence of prepaid accommodation. Please provide:
a. Letter from your bank or bank statements for the last 3 months in your name if you are self-sponsored, or
b. A Sponsorship Form for Temporary Entry (INZ 1025) completed by your sponsor AND
• If you are employed, a letter from your employer stating the position you hold, your length of employment, monthly salary and leave approval dates granted. OR
• If you are a student, a letter from your school stating the course you are attending, start and end date of your course and leave approval dates granted. OR
• If you are a student travelling on a school organised trip, a letter from your school confirming the trip and payment of trip, a letter of consent & financial support from your parent or guardian and evidence of their relationship to you.
10. Parent/Grandparent category: please provide sponsorship form (INZ 1025), evidence of relationship and medical & chest x-ray certificate (INZ 1007).
11. Guardian category: please provide evidence of your relationship to the student.
12. Health requirement
• If your stay is more than 6 months but less than 12 months – submit an X-ray Certificate for Temporary Entry form (INZ 1096) if you hold a passport from a country or have spent more than 3 months in the last 5 years in one or more countries NOT on the List of Low TB incident Countries. • If your stay is longer than 12 months – submit a Medical and Chest X-ray Certificate (INZ 1007)
• The x-ray film is NOT required if your x-ray results are normal.
• Children under 11 years of age and pregnant women are not required to have an x-ray.
• The certificate must be less than 3 months old at the time your application is submitted. Please refer to our website for an approved list of panel doctors and radiologists who can complete your certificate. For Singapore and Maldives, any registered medical practitioner can complete your certificate.
Processing time
• Applications received between:
o March to September: 5 to 10 working days
o October to February: 15 to 20 working days
• We recommend you submit your application 4 weeks before your intended departure date.
• Processing time may take longer if we require additional information and/or verification. For certain nationals, processing time may take up to 12 weeks or longer.
• Medical or x-ray certificates that needs to be referred may take up to 6 weeks to process.

Endorsement of your visa
Upon approval of your application, you may come in person with your passport for the visa endorsement or send your passport to this office and include a courier fee (payment methods see item no 3) for the return of your passport. The courier fee charges as follows:
