Reverence for GOD

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Reverence for GOD – What Does Reverence Mean?

The word ‘Reverence’ is used to express the attitude toward GOD HIMSELF.

In Psalm 89: 7 In the council of the holy ones GOD is greatly feared; HE is more awesome than all who surround HIM

A holy awe of GOD must fall upon us, and fill us, in all our approaches to GOD, even in secret, to which something may very well be added by the solemnity of public assemblies. GOD must be had in reverence of all that are about HIM, that attend HIM continually as HIS servants or approach HIM upon any particular errand.

Lev. 10: 3 Moses then said to Aaron, “This is what the LORD spoke of when HE said:“‘Among those who approach ME I will be proved holy; in the sight of all the people I will be honored.’”

Those only serve GOD acceptably who serve HIM with reverence and godly fear, Heb.12: 28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship GOD acceptably with reverence and awe.

Fight the good fight of faith
"Now  thanks be unto GOD, which always causeth us  to triumph in CHRIST, and maketh manifest  the savour  of his knowledge by us in every place."(2 Corinthians 2:14)
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
As you fight the good fight of faith today (1 Tim. 6: 12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.), remember this: Your mind is where  the battle will take place . Whatever  you allow to captivate your mind will rule your life. Will it be the Word of God or the lies of Satan?
The decision is yours.
If you want the WORD to reign, make up your mind now to resist the devil when he comes to plant doubts within you. Refuse to surrender to the circumstantial pressure he brings your way. Decide at the onset  that you will not succumb to this trial. Dig your heels in and stand immovable upon the promises of God.
When thoughts come that are contrary to  GOD's will , cast them down. And above all , don't worry . Worrying is meditating the thoughts of Satan.
When you recognize you are worrying, stop it immediately. Replace worried , fearful, and doubtful thoughts with the WORD.
Be assured, Satan will continually try to tell you that your situation is hopeless. He will persistently  peddle doubt, defeat, and discouragement. But if you won't allow him to sell you his goods, his commission will be zero. If you don't buy his lies, he can't cause them to come to pass  in your life.
GOD has promised that HE will always cause you to triumph in CHRIST. You are guaranteed victory over  any adversity  you face today. Make up your mind  right now  to be a winner and you'll spread the knowledge of victory in CHRIST everywhere you go.
Scripture Study: Philippians 4:1-9
Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved. 2 I beseech Euodias, and beseech Syntyche, that they be of the same mind in the Lord. 3 And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers, whose names are in the book of life. 4 Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice. 5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The LORD is at hand. 6 Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto GOD. 7 And the peace of GOD, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through CHRIST JESUS. 8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. 9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the GOD of peace shall be with you.

You can open that door
"Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you." (Matthew 7:7)
Shalom Brothers and Sisters,
How long has it been since you were backed into a corner, hemmed in by a seemingly insurmountable problem? Some spend years trying to work their way out of financial binds only to end up more bound by debt than ever. Others work doggedly on marriages that, despite their best efforts, deteriorate from year to year. Still others fight battles against fear or depression, drug addiction or disease.
Deep within our hearts, each of us knows there must be an answer to the problems we face. But often it seems to be out of reach, hidden behind a door that's locked tightly against us.
What I want you to know today, that: WE CAN OPEN THAT DOOR! JESUS HIMSELF has given us the keys.
Right now you may be facing a situation that looks utterly hopeless, but GOD has a key ring full of keys that will unlock any situation. HE has the keys that open the doors for you spiritually and physically, financially and emotionally. No matter how hard the devil tries to trap you, if you'll get hold of the right key, you can find your way out.
GOD's Word is full of keys ---keys to bind the devil's operations and keys to loose yourself from his snares. GOD has a key that will unravel any knot that the devil can tie. HE also has a key that will lock up the devil's operation so tightly that he won't be able to move.
Remember this: There's no situation so dark and so cleverly designed by the Satan that there is not a kingdom key that will unlock it with GOD’s power.
There is an answer to your situation. So keep digging for it. If you've been digging in the WORD of GOD in one spot and haven't found your answer, then look at another chapter, a different verse. Keep digging until you find the right key. Keep knocking at every door until you find the one that opens.
Scripture Study:  Psalm 63
GOD, you are my GOD.
I am searching so hard to find YOU.
Body and soul, I thirst for YOU
in this dry and weary land without water.
2 Yes, I have seen YOU in your Temple.
I have seen YOUR strength and glory.
3 YOUR faithful love is better than life,
so my lips praise YOU.
4 By my life, I will praise YOU.
In YOUR name, I lift my hands in prayer.
5 When I sit down to satisfy my hunger,
my joyful lips hunger to praise YOU!
6 I remember YOU while lying on my bed.
I think about YOU in the middle of the night.
7 That is because YOU are the one who helps me.
It makes me happy to be under YOUR protection!
8 I stay close to YOU,
and YOU hold me with YOUR powerful arm.
9 Those who are trying to kill me will be destroyed.
They will go down to their graves.
10 They will be killed with swords.
Wild dogs will eat their dead bodies.
11 But the king will be happy with his GOD,
and those who promised to obey HIM
will praise HIM when HE defeats those liars.

Hope for the Worst of Sinners
I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy.” (Exodus 33:19)
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Moses needed hope that GOD really could have mercy on a stiff-necked people who had just committed idolatry and scorned the GOD who brought them out of Egypt.
To give Moses the hope and confidence he needed, GOD said, “I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious.” In other words, "My choices do not depend on the degree of evil or good in man but solely upon MY sovereign will. Therefore no one can say he is too evil to be shown grace."
The doctrine of unconditional election is the great doctrine of hope for the worst of sinners. It means that when it comes to being a candidate for grace, your background has nothing to do with GOD’s choice.
If you have not been born again and brought to saving faith in JESUS CHRIST, do not sink into hopelessness thinking that the excessive rottenness or hardness of your past life is an insurmountable obstacle to GOD’s gracious work in your life. GOD loves to magnify the freedom of HIS grace by saving the worst of sinners.
Repent and turn from your sin; call upon the LORD. Even in this devotional HE is being gracious to you and giving you strong encouragement to come to HIM for mercy. Isaiah 1:18 “Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the LORD. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.19 If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good things of the land; 20 but if you resist and rebel, you will be devoured by the sword.” For the mouth of the LORD has spoken).
Scripture Study:
1 Timothy 1:13-15 (NIV)
13 Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief. 14 The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.
15 Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst.
We give thanks to GOD, the FATHER of our LORD JESUS CHRIST, for this day and for you, faithful brothers and sisters.
