Is your faith in JESUS persistence?

Mark 10: 47-52

Then they came to Jericho. As JESUS and HIS disciples, together with a large crowd, were leaving the city, a blind man, Bartimaeus (which means “son of Timaeus”), was sitting by the roadside begging. 47 When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” 48 Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” 49 Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.”So they called to the blind man, “Cheer up! On your feet! He’s calling you.” 50 Throwing his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus. 51 “What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked him. The blind man said, “Rabbi, I want to see.” 52 “Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Few people in the Gospels show as much persistence and eagerness in their desire to be healed as blind Bartimaeus. He is not about to be swayed from his efforts to attract JESUS’ attention. The discouragement from everyone around him only makes him shout louder, determined to get the attention of the HEALER he has heard about. The blind man’s actions demonstrate his faith. Beggars in first century Palestine would spread a cloak on the ground in front of them to collect donations from compassionate passers-by. It probably isn’t much, but for Bartimaeus, his cloak is all he has. He throws it aside without a thought—probably along with the coins he collected that day—because he is certain that once he meets JESUS, he will not need to be a beggar anymore.

GOD bless you my Brothers and Sister,

Watch what you say!
"In a multitude of words transgression is not lacking, but he who restrains his lips is prudent."(Proverbs 10:19)
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
We believers need to start watching our language! We need to quit throwing words around like they weren't important and start using them like our lives depended on it--because, according to the WORD of GOD, they do! (Prov. 18:21 The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.).
Too many of us have what Proverbs 19:1 (Better the poor whose walk is blameless than a fool whose lips are perverse.) calls a perverted mouth. Having a perverted mouth means more than lying and using profanity. It means having a disobedient mouth. It means saying things that are out of line with the Word of GOD.
All of us have done that at one time or another. We'll say, for instance, that we're believing GOD for our healing and then we'll turn right around to someone and make a statement like, "This pain is about to kill me!"
That's perverted! It's backwards from what GOD's WORD says.
"Oh well, Brother Victor, I know I said that, but it's not really what I meant."
Listen, the world of the spirit doesn't operate on what you mean. It operates on what you say. Mark 11:23 tells us that "whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he said shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he said."
Take note. That verse didn't say you shall have whatsoever you mean. It says you'll have what you say. It's what you say that counts.
Now, I'm not suggesting you should be tied up in knots all the time worrying about what your next phrase might be. Just use the wisdom GOD has given you. Train your mouth to be obedient to HIS WORD. Then, when you need it most, you'll find that WORD dwelling richly in you.
Proverbs 10:31 From the mouth of the righteous comes the fruit of wisdom, but a perverse tongue will be silenced.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Scripture Study: Proverbs 10:11-21
10:11 The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life, but violence overwhelms the mouth of the wicked.
10:12 Hatred stirs up dissension, but love covers over all wrongs.
10:13 Wisdom is found on the lips of the discerning, but a rod is for the back of him who lacks judgment.
10:14 Wise men store up knowledge, but the mouth of a fool invites ruin.
10:15 The wealth of the rich is their fortified city, but poverty is the ruin of the poor.
10:16 The wages of the righteous bring them life, but the income of the wicked brings them punishment.
10:17 He who heeds discipline shows the way to life, but whoever ignores correction leads others astray.
10:18 He who conceals his hatred has lying lips, and whoever spreads slander is a fool.
10:19 When words are many, sin is not absent, but he who holds his tongue is wise.
10:20 The tongue of the righteous is choice silver, but the heart of the wicked is of little value.
10:21 The lips of the righteous nourish many, but fools die for lack of judgment.
GOD bless you my Brothers and Sister,
from the least of GOD’s servants.

Sin and sickness are related
15 MY prayer is not that YOU take them out of the world but that YOU protect them from the evil one. 16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. (John 17:15-16)
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Being peculiar. That's not something most of us work to achieve, is it? But, you know, we should.
GOD has called us to be peculiar--to stand out from the rest of the world as living proof of HIS power and HIS love (1 Pet. 2:9 9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, GOD’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of HIM who called you out of darkness into HIS wonderful light.)
For example, HE doesn't want us to share the ailments of the world. HE doesn't want us to share their sickness and poverty and failure. HE never wanted that for HIS people. James 5:15 told us “the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well . . . .”. Sin and illness are not unrelated. Repentance and forgiveness of sin from GOD is therapeutic to the body as well as to the soul. James 5:15 confirmed this “the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven.”
HE gave us a physical illustration of that during the time the nation of Israel was held captive in Egypt. Pharaoh had refused to set the Israelites free, so GOD had allowed a thick darkness to cover the whole land. Exodus 10: 21-22 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand toward the sky so that darkness spreads over Egypt—darkness that can be felt.”  So Moses stretched out his hand toward the sky, and total darkness covered all Egypt for three days.” The darkness was so dreadful throughout Egypt that no one moved for three days."But," says Exodus 10:23, "No one could see anyone else or move about for three days. Yet all the Israelites had light in the places where they lived."
What a thrilling example of how GOD wants us to live. We should be glorifying GOD by the miraculously victorious lives we lead. We should constantly have people telling us, "I've heard how GOD healed you," or "I've heard how GOD prospered you and saved your children!"
So don't hold back. Put the WORD of GOD to work in your life and dare to receive the rich blessings that belong to those who trust and obey GOD. Start using the WORD to draw boundaries around your life, to paint spiritual warning signs for the devil. Signs that say: Off Limits! According to God's Word, I don't belong to you anymore. My family doesn't belong to you. My health doesn't belong to you. My money doesn't belong to you. My ministry doesn't belong to you. I belong to a different kingdom. Now, back off in Jesus' Name!
Does that sound a little peculiar? Good. That's exactly what GOD has called you to be! Titus told us in 2: 14 “JESUS, WHO gave HIMSELF for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for HIMSELF a people that are HIS very own, eager to do what is good.”
GOD bless you our Brothers and Sister,
from the least of GOD’s servants.

Doing Good for the Sake of the Gospel
2 You, however, must teach what is appropriate to sound doctrine. 2 Teach the older men to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love and in endurance.
3 Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. 4 Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, 5 to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.
6 Similarly, encourage the young men to be self-controlled. 7 In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness 8 and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us.
9 Teach slaves to be subject to their masters in everything, to try to please them, not to talk back to them, 10 and not to steal from them, but to show that they can be fully trusted, so that in every way they will make the teaching about God our Savior attractive.
11 For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. 12 It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, 13 while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Saviour, Jesus Christ, 14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.
15 These, then, are the things you should teach. Encourage and rebuke with all authority. Do not let anyone despise you.

MY sheep will know MY voice
"The sheep that are MY own hear and are listening to MY voice, and I know them and they follow ME."
(John 10:27)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
So many followers are unsure of their ability to hear GOD or know HIS voice. They're always afraid that they won't be able to tell when the SPIRIT of GOD is talking to them.
What they don't realize is this: Hearing the voice of the SPIRIT is a privilege that the Bible says belongs to every follower (Rom. 8:14). All we have to do to exercise that privilege is to receive it by faith and put ourselves in a position to hear.
Next time the devil tries to tell you that you can't hear GOD's voice, remember that. JESUS said HIS sheep will know HIS voice and a stranger's voice they will not follow. That is a promise of GOD to you today. You see, the SPIRIT of GOD will never guide you in opposition to the written WORD of GOD (Bible) (John 16:13). So, if you're not familiar with what the WORD (Bible) says, you'll find it more difficult to discern HIS leading.
Get familiar with GOD's voice by meditating and studying the WORD of GOD. Follow GOD's instruction to Joshua “. . . .meditate on it day and night . . . .” (Joshua 1:8). Act on what you find in the WORD (Bible), not just when it's easy but every time. Be obedient even in the smallest things GOD said in the Bible.
That continual obedience to the written WORD (Bible) will bring you into maturity and tune your inward ear to the voice of the SPIRIT. You'll soon be able to recognize it as easily as you recognize the voice of your dearest friend.
So, instead of wondering about it, start expecting to hear from HIM.
Then start sharpening your spiritual ears by spending time in the WORD (Bible).
