英国标准《BS5970-2012》已禁止使用木保温（冷）管托

保温（冷）管托的主要功能是将管道与管道支架隔离开来，以限制传热和热（冷）桥，并起到阻止水蒸气渗透的作用。

英国标准《BS 5970-2012:Thermal insulation of pipework, ductwork, associated equipment and other industrial installations in the temperature range of -100 °c to +870 °c – Code of practice（温度范围从- 100℃至+ 870℃的管道工程及设备隔热实施规程）》相对于旧版标准，对保温（冷）管道中的管托做了重大改变及明确说明。《BS 5970-2012》要求，支架上的保温（冷）管托材料应与管道的保温（冷）材料一致或兼容。

《BS 5970-2001》旧版以前建议允许使用木管托的内容被删除，新版《BS 5970-2012》改为明确说明：木管托不应被使用（“Wooden pipe supports should not be used”）。

究其原因，主要是木管托较差的保温隔热性能，容易造成热（冷）桥，产生冷凝水。另外木管托也难以形成水蒸气阻隔层。

不能使用木管托，那应该使用什么管托呢？

目前管托主要有三种：木管托，酚醛泡沫管托，硅酸钙管托。
