Job Description: The Shipping Clerk isresponsible for goods shipping and receiving activities from documentation preparation;goods packing and unpacking, inspection on quantity and quality in general, andfor analysing freight analytics to improve cost saving. He/She is alsoresponsible for advising stakeholders on import and export rules andregulations for complex freight.
Analytical and systematic, he/she is required to plan and review complexfreight and persuasive to manage stakeholders and customers. He/She is alsoexpected to coordinate closely with internal and external stakeholders todevelop freight solutions. Job Responsibilities:
- Incoming goods receiving;
- Outgoing goods shipping;
- Freight cost control;
- Assist on goods packaging;
- Ad-hoc duties
Job Requirements:
· Advise on the most cost efficientfreight shipments alternatives based on prevalent tariffs, insurance andquotas; · Communicate with export and importcustom activities in relevant territories and countries to ensure efficientcustom clearance; · Develop contingency plans for cargohandling and delivery operations; · Develop measures using qualitymanagement knowledge to enhance shipping quality standards; · Develop methods to improve cargodocumentation process based on strict adherence to industry standards or sectorrequirements; · Develop operational plans forcomplex freight shipments; · Develop review measures to enhancecompliance to internal SOPs, government regulatory requirements andlegislations; · Evaluate carrier performance toensure on-time shipments; · Evaluate the costs and benefits ofthe current business processes within warehouse operations; · Plan effective incident/ crisismanagement initiatives.
