RVHS Produces A National Top Student For The Second Year!
River Valley High School GCE 'A' Levels 2012 Release Of Results
1. River Valley High School’s second batch of graduates has, like their seniors, done the school proud with their ‘A’ Levels results, which they received on Friday 2 March 2012.
2. Despite a relatively small cohort of 386 students, RVHS has produced one of the national top students and 28 students with seven or more distinctions.
3. Among the top students in RVHS, nine had received support through the Ministry of Education’s Financial Assistance Scheme. The scheme allowed the students to focus on their studies, increasing their chances to level up with their peers.
Top Student
4. Soh Zhi Liang, the school’s top student, is also one of the national top students in the 2011 Singapore-Cambridge GCE ‘A’ Level Examination. He scored full distinctions in nine subjects at 13 Academic Units, including an A2 in Higher Chinese.
5. Zhi Liang not only had a strong aptitude and positive attitude for scholastic achievement, but also contributed to the school and the community through the events he led as the President of RVHS’ Science Society, as well as the Director for West Zone Centre of Excellence (WZCOE) for Science events such as the 2010 WZCOE Science Exploration Camp.
- RVHS also produced a national top student in the 2010 Singapore-Cambridge GCE ‘A’ Level Examination. Tan Zhi Xiang, who was from RVHS' first Integrated Programme 'A' Levels cohort, also obtained nine distinctions (13 Academic Units).
